Star Detective Precure! is set to host a crossover with the 1999 classic Magical DoReMi in a special broadcast this October. The event episode, titled "Ojamajo na Halloween" (An Ojamajo Halloween), serves as Episode 39 of the current series and marks a rare collaboration between Toei Animation legacy properties and modern magical girl franchises.
This crossover is narratively possible thanks to the time-travel plot of the current season. Protagonist Anna Akechi, a middle schooler who slips from 2027 back to 1999, finds herself in the exact year Ojamajo Doremi first premiered in Japan. The crossover allows the modern Precure warriors to interact with the aesthetics and world of the witch apprentices during the Halloween season.
What We Know
The episode airs on October 25, 2026, in the series' usual Sunday 8:30 a.m. JST slot on ABC TV and TV Asahi affiliates. The series is directed by Koji Kawasaki, with series composition by Isao Murayama and character designs by Akane Yano.
Yoshihiko Umakoshi, the character designer of both Ojamajo Doremi and HeartCatch Precure!, drew a special collaboration illustration for the event. Hikari Senga stars in the series as Anna Akechi, also known as Cure Answer. In the promotional art, the four Star Detectives appear in witch-apprentice costumes inspired by Ojamajo Doremi.
Why It Matters
